The San Francisco CASA program

How to Become an SFCASA Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in becoming a San Francisco Court Appointed Special Advocate. SFCASA volunteers are ordinary people doing extraordinary things. CASAs are the only volunteers that are appointed by a judge and empowered to stand up for an abused and neglected child in court. We ask each volunteer to make an 18-month commitment to serve on a case, spending 2—4 hours per week. If you would like to learn more about becoming an SFCASA volunteer, please join us at one of our upcoming 45 minute Information Sessions.

There are four training classes per year. Attending an information session is the first step in the application process.

Upcoming information sessions:

  • Tuesday, March 9th at 6:00 pm at the CASA office (100 Bush Street, Suite 625)
  • Friday, March 19th at 12:00 noon at the CASA office (100 Bush Street, Suite 625)
  • Wednesday, March 31st at 12:00 noon at the Starbucks Coffee located at 455 Market Street
